It was all sunshine and smiles in the village of Frewsburg last Sunday as the Frewsburg Rest home played host to their First Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The public event was open to local children of all ages. Participants were divided into two age groups – Under and over 6 years old. Grand prize winners who found the Golden Eggs received prizes donated by the Lakewood Golf Center and Gaffar Adams Karate Academy.
Although the temperatures were brisk, over 60 community members, family and friends joined the residents in the Rest Home’s outdoor park area for the hunt, where they also enjoyed cookies and juice provided by the staff.
“It was a bit chilly, but we didn’t let that stop the fun.” said Nicole Mucheck, Tanglewood Group’s Executive Director of Activities. “We would like to make this an annual event. Next year we plan to do it bigger and better! Our residents love to interact with the local residents – especially with the children. That is one of the many benefits of being located in a smaller community. We are all one big family!”
