Tanglewood Group Employees Honored at Year-end Appreciation Program
January 8, 2014
Employees of the Tanglewood Group gathered recently for the 2013 Christmas Tea and Assembly of Staff. The annual gathering is hosted by owner Nick Ferreri and COO Terri Ingersoll to show appreciation to all personnel for their service and to honor individual achievements. The luncheon was catered by Sandee’s Bakery and was followed by the presentation of several special awards.
The Service Award, which is given successively each year to the employee who has the longest tenure, was presented this year to Patti Leake. Patti has been employed with Tanglewood since May 2000, serving the company in many different capacities, including receptionist, case management and administrative assistant. She currently works at Comfort Today, specializing in marketing and community relations.
Housekeeping Department employee Jessica Delahoy received a special acknowledgement for three consecutive years of perfect attendance. Mark McIntosh of the Maintenance Department and Colleen Moeller from Housekeeping were also honored for their flawless attendance record for 2013. Each employee received a monetary award of $600 for this accomplishment.
2013 Employees of the month were recognized with a special slide presentation. These past winners - employees of both the Tanglewood Manor and Memory Garden facilities – had been nominated by their peers each month throughout the year on the basis of performance and attitude. At the time of their selection they were presented with a $100 gift certificate and a special parking space. At the year-end celebration their names, along with all employees who received monthly perfect attendance during the year were entered into a special drawing for three cash prizes. Karen Russell, Shannon Carnahan and Karen Oritz-Reyes were the lucky recipients $500 each.
The highlight of the afternoon was the announcement of HHA Renee Beardsley as the 2013 Employee of the Year. Renee works in the Personal Care Department as the ALP Assistant. She was selected this year for her hard work and special dedication to the resident’s needs. For her efforts she was given a check for $1000 and two paid airline tickets to anywhere in the Continental US or Caribbean. When asked where she thought she would travel, Renee stated that it would be “someplace warm and tropical”.
Each employee was also awarded a boneless ham at the end of the program.
COO Terri Ingersoll remarked at the conclusion of the program “I am surrounded by strength and capacity, loyalty and commitment. It is a great problem for somebody in position to have. I couldn’t be more proud of the company I keep here with The Tanglewood Group.
